These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) apply where an individual (hereinafter referred to as “You” and/or “Your”) applies for or purchases an Internship Programme (hereafter referred to as “Internship”) from Pave Limited.
Pave Limited is registered with Companies House in the United Kingdom (company no.08545862). Pave’s registered address is 06, Westward House, Glebeland Road, Camberley, England, GU15 3DB.
For the avoidance of doubt, the singular meaning of words may be used in its plural form.
In these Terms, the words “We”, “Us”, “Our” and “Internship provider” refer to Pave.
In these Terms when referring to “You” and/or “Your” this contract is referring to the Participant and, where relevant, their sponsor.
In these Terms, the words “host organisation” refer to Indian organisations with whom You will carry out an Internship.
These Terms are the basis of a legally binding contract between Pave and You. By applying for an Internship offered through Pave, You agree to be bound by these Terms.
You should read these Terms before making payment to confirm Your participation on the Internship programme and retain a copy of these Terms for future reference.
Application process and suitability of applicants
Internship applications successfully submitted through the Pave website will go through Our multi-stage selection process of: a) application and CV review; b) telephone interview(s); and c) qualifications review.
We retain all rights to reject the application of any person We deem unsuitable against our Programme’s entry criteria at any stage of the selection process.
Where an applicant has successfully passed all stages of the selection process, an offer of place on a Pave Internship will be made within no more than 2 Weeks of the telephone interview.
The offer of place given by Pave is a conditional acceptance, ultimately subject to the Indian Host Organisation’s acceptance or rejection of the applicant upon recommendation by Pave.
Rules and Regulations
In accepting an offer of place on a Pave Internship, You are agreeing to comply with the provisions of the Regulations, Rules, Codes, Conditions and Policies of Pave as may be properly issued and pertaining to applicants and participants. The more important of these are reiterated to You as part of the formal registration process.
Please prepare appropriately for the Internship in India. You are required to attend the pre-departure briefing and induction activities prior to commencing Your Internship.
If You do not comply with the rules of Pave’s Internship, the rules of the Internship Host Organisation, or the laws of the destination to which You go, then We may release You from the Internship. In these cases, no refund will be given and You will be required to leave the provided accommodation within two days of being informed by us. This includes cases in which the Internship provider asks You to leave Your role due to underperformance or misconduct.
You will take full responsibility for Your conduct at all times during the Internship Programme. You will not act irresponsibly nor will You break the law of the country to which You go. You will not put Yourself or others in dangerous situations. If You do any of the above You will be responsible for the consequences and not hold Us liable.
We reserve the right to expel, at our sole discretion, any Participant from the Internship for reasons including but not limited to: breaking the law; bullying or harassment of others; anti-social or unreasonable behavior or unfit conduct towards other Participants, our representatives, our suppliers’/affiliate agencies’ representatives or the Host Organisation or excessive absence from work.
Whether a Participant has acted in any of the ways set out above will be determined by us in our sole discretion. In such instances, We retain the right to immediately remove the Participant from his or her accommodation and cancel their participation in the Internship Programme, with no refund issued.
For the purposes of the Distance Selling Regulations it is necessary for Us to confirm, and for You to agree, that the booking You make relates to the Internship dates as advertised. You should assume the Internship will run on the advertised dates (subject to paragraphs 14, 22 and 29).
Our undertakings
In return for receipt of the Internship Programme fee, We will undertake the following:
to place You in an Internship with an India-based organisation;
to provide furnished accommodation for the duration of the Internship Programme that meets the following minimum standards:
with a bed in Your bedroom;
with a wardrobe in Your bedroom;
with facilities for cooking and for the hygienic storage of food;
with adequate bathroom, toilet and shoWer facilities;
with bed sheets;
with gas, electricity and water facilities.
to provide You with a transfer, at a time agreed between us, from the closest international airport to Your accommodation upon Your arrival on the first day of the Pave Internship Programme.
to provide contact details of local staff in case of any issues experienced and to facilitate support as necessary;
to provide an induction upon Your arrival.
to provide You with visa assistance where necessary.
to organise social events, for You and the other participants, at Your destination.
For the avoidance of doubt, We will only be responsible for and are only bound to provide the services and matters set out in Section 4.1 above.
If You wish to stay in the accommodation for a longer period, before or after Your Internship programme, We can attempt to arrange this for You. however, We cannot guarantee or cover the cost of any accommodation outside of the period of Your Internship program. The arrangement and cost of any such accommodation is ultimately and entirely Your responsibility.
Deposit Requirement For Booking
Once successfully accepted, You are required to pay a deposit of £250 per person for Your place on the Pave Internship to be confirmed by the given deadline.
If Your booking is made within (thirty) 30 days of the Internship Programme start date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
Should You fail to make the deposit payment by the given payment deadline, Pave reserves the right to allocate the Internship role to another candidate.
Booking Acceptance And Payment
Your place is confirmed and a contract exists between You and Us when We or Our disclosed agent issue a written confirmation after receipt of the applicable deposit or first payment amount.
Where applicable, Your confirmation will include details of the final payment(s).
The final payment of the balance of the Internship Programme price is due no later than (thirty) 30 days after the final invoice date or as the deadline stipulated on the invoice, whichever is sooner.
Where making a booking within thirty (30) days before the start of the Internship, full payment should be made at the time of the booking.
If Your payment balance is not paid on or before the due date We reserve the right to treat Your booking as cancelled and the cancellation charges outlined at Clause 5 will apply.
In case You require more time to pay Your balance, please advise us as soon as possible. We will assess each situation individually before responding back with a response as to the feasibility of a payment deadline extension.
You are responsible for covering all and any charges imposed by financial institutions, including PayPal fees, foreign transaction fees, and wire transfer fees. This applies to Your Deposit, Program Fee and any other transfer to us.
If You underpay Your deposit due to such charges, You will be charged the remaining balance when You pay the final payment amount.
If You underpay Your Final Payment due to such charges, You will need to make an additional transaction to cover the outstanding balance.
Your Responsibilities
Upon payment of Your first payment, You agree to fully cooperate with Pave in its attempts to place You into an Internship in India and organise Your logistics.
Examples of non-cooperation include, but are not limited to:
Not actively working with Your assigned representatives from Pave;
Skipping or missing scheduled calls and/or interviews;
Not engaging in Internship discussions with Your Internship Coordinator;
Not responding to Pave communications in a timely manner;
Not providing necessary details requested from You in an effective or timely manner;
Allowing the process to be delayed due to missing agreed payment deadlines
Unreasonably refusing the Internship offered to You
Dishonesty. This includes fabricating, altering, or misrepresenting academic transcripts, test scores, academic standing, statements made on visa applications, or any other written or oral statement You may make in the process of applying for the Internship Programme, for a visa, or for any Internship role.
Participants who are deemed uncooperative will be notified by Pave, and may be dropped from the programme with no refund given. Such Participants may have the option, at the discretion of Pave, to rejoin the Internship Programme, provided that they cooperate and participate in good faith.
It is Your responsibility to be aware of any national holidays or other events that may change the nature of the Internship Programme. While most companies operate a Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00 working policy, some may have different requirements and We cannot be held responsible for this.
International flights are not included in the cost of any of our Internship Programmes. It is Your sole responsibility to arrange flights and insurance and to select providers based on Your own decisions and experiences. While We can assist in finding flight options, We cannot be held responsible for any action, negligence or event relating to the purchase or operation of flight tickets or flights. We will also not be responsible for any costs or refunds on the Internship Programme due to changes, delays or cancellations of flights.
Acceptance by Intern Host Organisation
The Indian Host Organisation where You will prospectively be interning retains the right to reject any applicant Pave recommends to them as they deem appropriate.
Pave will not be liable for any rejection made by the Indian Host Organisation, even where it is subsequent to an initial conditional offer of acceptance made by Pave.
If Pave is unable to place You in Your chosen Internship role or a suitable alternative role, You will be given the option:
to withdraw from the Internship Program and receive a refund of Your Deposit and all other Programme payments made by You (“Full Refund”); or
to request that We continue the search process until You are placed; and if Pave is still unable to place You within the agreed extended time, You will receive a Full Refund.
Cancellations & Charges
If You are a consumer and are not entering into the Contract for purposes connected with a business, then You have a legal right under the Consumer Contract (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel the Contract within (fourteen) 14 days (the “Cancellation Period”) without giving any reason.
The Cancellation Period will expire (fourteen) 14 days after the date of Your first payment to Us.
To cancel within the Cancellation Period You must cancel via your profile or send in Your cancellation request by e-mail to [email protected].
Pave may Cancel the Internship on the specified dates:
If it or the host organisation is unexpectedly unable to provide the Internship for the dates specified, or
An Event Out of Our Control (refer to Paragraph 29 or details) prevents Us from providing the Internship Programme.
If You have failed to meet Your responsibilities as set out in Paragraph 7 reasonably.
Refund Policy
If You cancel in accordance with paragraph 9.1, We will refund the fees You have paid within (fourteen) 14 days of the date on which You inform Us that You wish to cancel.
After the cooling-off period has expired, the Deposit, and all subsequent Internship Programme Fees paid are non-refundable if You cancel or withdraw from the Internship for any reason other than Pave’s failure to place You onto a sufficiently relevant Internship.
This includes withdrawal for any reason, including but not limited to, medical, personal, family, visa rejection, academic, financial or any other reasons.
If You wish to cancel or withdraw from the Internship after the Internship has started, You shall not be entitled to any refund of fees paid and will still be liable for any outstanding fees to be paid.
Refunds will be paid in Great British Pounds sterling (GBP) and We will not be responsible for any losses You suffer as a result of any currency exchange fluctuations or exchange fees.
Please ensure that Your sponsor, where applicable, is aware of these cancellation and refund policies.
Transfer & Changes Of Booking
If You wish to transfer from one Internship to another or from one start date to another, You must notify us at least (sixty) 60 days prior to the originally proposed Internship start date. A fee of £250.00 (GBP) per person per change will apply (in addition to any charges levied by accommodation, ground operators or airlines).
If You notify Us less than 60 days prior to the originally proposed Internship Start Date the refund policy applicable to cancellations will apply.
Transfers to another Internship are contingent on acceptance of the participant and proposed Internship dates by the new Indian host organisation. You may have to sit additional interviews with Pave or with the Indian host organisation to consider Your suitability for the new Internship.
Any amendments You wish to make to Internship options in Your current booking and any other arrangements made in conjunction with Your Internship, will incur a £75.00 (GBP) administration fee per booking per change. This fee is in addition to any charges levied by accommodations, ground operators or airlines. No amendments are permitted to Your booking within (ten) 10 days of departure.
Fees & Surcharges
Our Internship fees are subject to variable and seasonal pricing. This standard practice within the travel industry refers to Our Internship and Experience fees varying from time to time in accordance with demand, market conditions and availability. This means Participants may have been charged a different fee on the same Internship Programme. Your best option if You like the price You see is to secure it at that time.
Any reduced pricing or discounts that may become available after You have paid Your deposit will not apply.
If You wish to cancel Your booking to book at a cheaper price, full cancellation charges and refund policies outlined in paragraphs nine (9) and ten (10) will apply. The most up-to-date pricing is available on Our website.
We reserve the right to impose surcharges up to (sixty) 60 days prior to departure due to unfavorable changes in exchange rates, increases in airfares or other transportation costs, increases in local operator costs, taxes, or if government action should require us to do so.
In such instances We will be responsible for any amount up to (two percent) 2% of the Internship fee price and You will be responsible for the balance. If any surcharge results in an increase of more than (ten percent) 10% of the Internship fee You may cancel the booking within (fourteen) 14 days of notification of the surcharge and obtain a full refund.
Website, Promotional Material & Photography
The content and information displayed on Our website and other promotional material is believed to be valid and correct but We will not be held liable and do not take responsibility for any misinformation or ambiguities in the content.
Prices are subject to change without notice and You will be liable for additional amounts oWed due to price changes unless Your deposit has already been submitted.
We reserve the right to take Your photograph, or video footage of You, for use in our promotional material.
We do not make any payments to individuals in respect of such use. We may (but are not obliged to) reproduce the photographs (or part of them) in our promotional material including, without limitation, posters, advertisements, printed publications, on our website and social media website pages.
Copyright in the photographs will belong to Pave.
Photographic data is personal data for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and therefore We will not use the images taken without Your consent and We will not use Your image, or any other information You provide, for any other purpose.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, You consent for Your photographic data to be used for our promotional purposes.
The Format of the Programme
We reserve the right to change our suppliers, Internship host organisations and the format of our Internship Programme as and when necessary, however We will endeavour to provide as similar an Internship Programme as possible at all times.
Issues on Internship Programme
You agree to discuss any problems in Your Internship with Pave staff prior to discussion with Your Internship host organisation. If the Internship host organisation wishes to terminate Your Internship prior to the end of the agreed Internship period for any reason (for example as a result of Your inadequate or unhelpful participation or prolonged or repeated absence from work), You understand that no refund of fees will be given in this situation.
In such an instance, Pave is under no obligation to provide another Internship. In such a case, You will be required to leave the provided accommodation within two days of being informed by us.
If You wish to terminate Your Internship prior to the end of the agreed Internship period stated in the contract for any reason You must provide Us with written notice, clearly stating the reasons for such a decision. You agree that no refund of the Internship Programme Fee or any other fees will be made in this situation, that no other placement will be offered and that You will be required to leave the provided accommodation within two days of being informed byus.
Pave cannot be held responsible for any complaints arising from issues outside of the specifications made in Paragraph 4.1., this includes, without limitation, relations with other inhabitants of the apartment/home-stay, relations with Your neighbours, and relations with other colleagues or managers in Your place of Internship.
Your Details
In order for Us to organise and confirm Your travel arrangements You must provide all requested details with the balance of the Internship fee. Necessary details vary by Internship. They include, but are not limited to:
Full name as per passport;
Date of birth;
Nationality;
Passport number;
Passport issue and expiry date; and
Any pre-existing medical conditions You have which may affect Your ability to complete Your travel arrangements.
On some more demanding Internships, We also require You to complete a Self-Assessment form. Failure to provide requested details may result in additional charges or non-refundable cancellation of Your Internship.
Internship Programme Exclusions
The price of Your Internship does not include:
International or internal flights unless specified
Airport transfers, taxes and excess baggage charges unless specified
Visa and passport fees
Travel insurance
Optional activities and all personal expenses
Age And Health Requirements
Minimum Age: For the majority of our Internships the minimum age is sixteen (16) at the time of travel. All Participants under the age of (eighteen) 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or in lieu of a legal guardian, by an escort over the age of (eighteen) 18, appointed by their legal guardian. The legal guardian or their designee will be responsible for the Participant under the age of (eighteen’s) 18’s day to day care. If a legal guardian elects to designate an escort in their lieu, they will be required to complete and sign a relevant document, to delegate their authority.
Maximum Age: For our Internship Programme, We have no upper age limit though We remind You that the very nature of an Internship job description is to provide entry-level experience of a professional industry or job role. Participants will therefore be considered in line with the job description to consider their ultimate suitability and fit.
We are able to provide details on mandatory health requirements; however, We are not medical experts. It is Your responsibility to ensure that You obtain proper and detailed medical advice at least (two) 2 months prior to travel for the latest health requirements and recommendations for Your destination.
Flexibility on Local Activities And Transportation
You appreciate and acknowledge that the nature of this type of travel requires considerable flexibility and You should allow for alternatives. The details, logistics and plans provided for Your Internship Programme is representative of the types of logistics and activities contemplated, but it is understood that routes, schedules, itineraries, travel times, amenities and mode of transport may be subject to alteration without prior notice due to local circumstances or events.
Passport And Visa
Passport: You must carry a valid passport with two blank pages and ensure it has a minimum six (6) months validity from the Internship start date.
In most instances, We will assist You with preparing Your visa application to Your destination’s High Commission for You.
Our services however do not include (unless otherwise specified) submission of the application or the consulate fee payable to the High Commission. You are therefore required to submit in person and pay for the visa consulate/embassy fee separate to the Internship Programme fee.
In enabling us to prepare the application, You will need to provide Us with Your passport and all supporting documentation within (forty-eight) 48 hours, from the date requested.
In the event You fail to comply, Your application will be delayed, leading to circumstances where You are unable to travel in time for Your proposed Internship start date.
An additional £250.00 (GBP) administrative charge will also be applicable.
No compensation can be given In the event that You are refused an appropriate visa or suitable alternative by the Local Authorities.
No compensation can be given for cancellation of flights or any other costs whatsoever incurred by You.
No refund of Deposit and/or Programme Fee will be offered if Your tardiness in completing the necessary visa requirements leads to start dates being delayed and Your Internship being cancelled.
If You request a re-application of any initial unsuccessful visa application, it is at Our discretion whether to assist You and if We do, it will be sufficiently deemed that a reapplication could be successful. If We agree to another attempt at assisting with Your visa application, You will pay a £150.00 (GBP) administration charge in advance, and any additional costs including but not limited to, visa consulate/embassy fees, express processing, postage and submission in person fees.
If for any reason You are issued the wrong length or type of Indian visa for an Internship Programme, We reserve the right to refuse participation. If You pursue an Internship with any incorrect visa, permit or certificate without informing Us, We are not liable for any consequences of this decision.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Our Interns and should be taken out at the time of booking.
Your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation with a recommended minimum coverage of GBP £250,000.00 for each of the categories of cover.
We also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. You must provide Us with a copy of Your travel insurance policy and the insurance company’s 24-hour emergency contact number (thirty) 30 days before Your departure; You will not be able to join the trip without these details.
If You have travel insurance connected to Your credit card or bank account please ensure You have details of the participating insurer, the insurance policy number and emergency contact number with You rather than the bank’s name and credit card details.
Change Of Itinerary
While We make every effort to operate all Internships as described We reserve the right to change the itinerary. You can refer to Us before departure for the most recent updates to Your itinerary.
If We make a major change before departure We will inform You as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before departure. The definition of a major change is deemed to be a change affecting at least (one) 1 in (five) 5 days of the itinerary. When a major change is made You may choose between accepting the change, obtaining a refund of money paid on that portion of the Internship Programme only or accepting an alternative activity offered.
We reserve the right to change an itinerary after departure due to local circumstances or events outside of Our control. In such emergency circumstances the additional cost of any necessary itinerary alterations will be covered by You. Please note We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that may be incurred as a result of the change of itinerary such as visas, vaccinations or non-refundable flights.
Authority On the Internship Programme
Our Internship Programmes are coordinated by a local Pave Internship Coordinator. The decision of the coordinator is final on all matters likely to affect the safety or Well-being of any Participant participating in the Internship Programme outside of their work hours.
If You fail to comply with a decision made by a Pave Internship Coordinator or interfere with the Well-being or mobility of others, the coordinator may direct You to leave the Internship Programme immediately, with no right of refund. We may also elect not to carry You on any future Pave Experiences or Internships booked.
You must at all times comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange and drug regulations of the country, and You also agree to travel in accordance with Our and local responsible travel guidelines.
Acceptance Of Risk
You acknowledge that the nature of the Internship Programme and participation may at times involve a degree of personal risk. You may be visiting places where the political, cultural and geographical attributes present dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in Our daily lives. We vet our suppliers and Internship Host Organisations before engaging with them and use information from government foreign departments and reports from Our own networks in assessing how and whether the Programme should operate. however, it is also Your responsibility to acquaint Yourself with all relevant travel information and the nature of Your itinerary. You acknowledge that Your decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information and You accept that You are aware of the personal risks present upon such travel.
Limitation Of Liability
We contract with a network of organisations, governmental agencies and in-country individuals to assist in the running of our Internship Programme as agent for these third parties. We are not responsible for the acts and omissions of these third parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
any liability for any loss, death, injury or damage which You may suffer (directly or indirectly) in connection with or arising out of Your participation in an Internship, or any breach of the Booking Conditions, is excluded;
You release Us and Our officers, employees, agents and representatives from any liability and expressly waive any claims You may have against Us arising out of or in connection with Your participation in an Internship Programme; and
any condition or warranty which would otherwise be implied by law into these Booking Conditions (Implied Warranty), is excluded.
To the extent an Implied Warranty cannot be excluded, our liability in respect of the Implied Warranty is limited to (in our absolute discretion):
the provision of a similar trip to an equivalent value; or
a refund of the total amount received by Us from You in connection with Your booking.
Any claim by You is excluded to the extent that it is for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits or economic loss, however it arises, or for indirect, special, punitive or exemplary damages.
Optional Activities
Optional activities not included in the Internship Programme fee do not form part of the Internship or this contract. You accept that any assistance given by Your coordinator or local representative in arranging optional activities does not render Us liable for them in any way.
The contract for the provision of an optional activity is between You and activity provider.
Complaints
If You have a complaint about Your Internship Programme experience please inform Us at the earliest, during the time of the Internship so We can attempt to rectify the matter. If satisfaction is not reached through these means then any further complaint should be put in writing to us within (thirty) 30 days of the end of the Internship.
Severability
In the event that any term or condition contained in these Booking Conditions is unenforceable or void by operation of law or as being against public policy or for any other reason then such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from this contract or amended accordingly only to such extent necessary to allow all remaining terms and conditions to survive and continue as binding.
Events Outside Our Control
“Event Outside Our Control” means an event or circumstances beyond Our reasonable control, including extreme adverse Weather conditions, poWer failure, loss of internet or poor connectivity, urgent or necessary maintenance that may arise from time to time, technical problems, strikes, and acts of God.
We shall not be responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performing Our obligations under the Contract that is due to an Event Outside Our Control.
If an Event Outside Our Control takes place which affects Our obligations under the Contract then:
We will contact You as soon as reasonably possible to notify You;
Our obligations under the Contract will be suspended and Our time for performance extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control; and
We will restart the Services as soon as possible when the Event Outside Our Control is over.
Privacy Policy
Please refer to full details of Our Privacy Policy however, any personal information that We collect about You may be used for any purpose associated with the operation of the Internship Programme or to send You marketing material in relation to our events and special offers.
The information may be disclosed to Our agents, service providers or other suppliers to enable Us to operate the Internship Programme. We will otherwise treat Your details in accordance with Our privacy policy and the General Data Protection Regulation.
Other Important Terms
We may transfer Our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, and We will always notify You in writing if this happens, but this will not affect Your rights or Our obligations under these Terms.
This contract is between You and Us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
Each of the paragraphs of these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms are governed by English law. You and We both agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
